What is Diversity?
Diversity is the recognition, acknowledgement, and valuing of
individual differences. In a diverse environment and a diverse
community, we must ensure the equitable treatment of individuals
and provide the awareness of necessity in our current society to
promote diversity.
Goals of the Junior Diversity Association
- To group together the existing school organizations
throughout the State to become part of the JDA;
- To help create diversity projects in schools that do not
currently have one available;
- To sign up students who wish to join independently of
their school;
- To establish a solid understanding, respect, and
appreciation of diversity.
Mission Statement
Through the establishment and reorganization of each of the
high school groups, we hope to make our State more
able to appreciate the presence of many diverse groups. By
building cultural consciousness in our high schools, we can
increase the respect for the many ethnic groups within the state
at an early age, and foster that values.
